This is the “New World”, it is a post apocalyptic environment that has been previously ravaged by a zombie outbreak infection for five decades prior, now most of the zombies that wander the planet are sleepers, zombies that pretend to be dead. In the wake of this new world all adults past age 24 have died from a new airborne strain of the infection. Now anyone under 25 try to survive on their own. A boy and a girl try to live their lives the best they can in this world while finding things to pass the time.
